iawnski
hi what is the best method to hold the wing tips on a flying wing ?
Dave Bran
Usually reinforced tape, criss cross over the front onto the wing, and slots at wing thickness towards the rear with tape looped through and onto wing top and bottom.
Martyn K
Do you mean wing tips or wing tip fins? If wing tips, there should be no difference than normal construction which would depend on the size and mass of the aeroplane. If tip fins, I prefer these to be 'knock off' - so they can be quickly and easily glued back into position in the event of an 'incident'. I use thick soft balsa cap ribs and hard balsa/ply laminated fins so the thick rib always gives before the fin breaks Martyn
Wingman
These CF plate fins are stuck on with UHU POR - never had a problem with them. Edited By Wingman on 06/12/2012 14:26:
