62mm slim wheels for a 5mm axle?

I'm in need of 3 * 2 1/2"/62mm wheels. Common enough you say, just use Google or your LHS. If only - the problem is I want to fit them on 5mm axles and most plastic hub wheels are designed for 4mm axles. There's just not enough meat to drill them out. Ideally I'd like slimline wheels as the wells they will retract into aren't very deep but I really don't want to pay Williams bros prices - anyway they don't do the 2 1/2" in streamline version. Otherwise an offset hub allowing the collet to fit in the wheel profile would do. The only ones I can find are DuBro at around £13 a pair, so I end up paying £26 or so for four and chuck one in a draw.

Does anyone know of a source of reasonably priced wheels that either come in 5mm axle size or have enough meat to drill?

Thanks but this will be for a .60 powered 7lb or thereabouts model flown from grass, hence the 5mm axle requirement. Those don't look as though there'd be enough strength left after drilling to 5mm.

These look chubby but might do except that they're on backorder.

Hello Bob . give Weston UK a ring . They had some wheels with alloy hubs that can be drilled out to 5mm and I'm sure they went up to 2 1/2 dia . Worth a ring on 01795522020 .

Cheers Phil. I found that GS have some 63mm 'jet wheels' for a 5mm axle, not exactly lightweight but very sturdy!
