Mogs
I've been building a model sailing ship over the last few days. The rigging has been frustrating, the whipping cord needs to be threaded through lots of tiny holes in spars etc. It frays forcing me to cut the end. Mrs Mogs says put a blob of glue on the end. Okay I blob some CA about an 1.5 inch from the end and let gravity carry it to the end, a quick wipe with a rag and spray with activator, hey presto, it forms it's own needle. Myron Beaumont
Another way ,assuming it's not the old fashioned "genuine" cotton or thread ,is to burn the end with a cigarette lighter and roll it with your finger whilst molten .You can use this on full size ropes, warps & sheets too . Keith Berriman
Another tip is to pull the thread over some bees wax or at worst a candle to enable a smooth run through the holes in the spars Edited By RC Plane Flyer on 21/01/2013 13:25:
