TonyS
Hi Chaps, Hope you're all well - it's been a while (don't ask) Quick question. I've been trying to bind a DX7 to various receivers (Spektrum and Orange) with similar results - the control surfaces work but when I move the throttle all I get is a series of quick beeps. I've bound dozens of planes but never had this. Problem is I've tried it on two different planes with similar results. Anyone come across this? Thanks T
John Payne
Hi Tony, just a thought. Is the throttle reversed on the model number you are trying to bind to? That is what would happen as it ses the throttle as wide open and not closed if the model has an ESC. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers, John. Frank Skilbeck
Check you have full throttle movement, it's not reversed and that the throttle trim is back, if the throttle isn't full shut the ESC won't "arm" until it sees the correct low position signal. Happened today at the field, flyer with a Hitec set was saying his ESC/Motor wasn't working, I lowered the throttle trim and all was cured. TonyS
Thanks chaps - off to the workshop. I'll let you know how I get on!!
TonyS
Hmmm. I'm afraid that didn't work. I reversed the throttle channel and set the throttle trim to minimum. When I bound it this time all I got was continuous beeping. Previously everything worked fine then when I moved the throttle I got a series of rapid beeps. Pete B
Hi Tony, Good to hear from you again! Reference to 'binding' is confusing me - you only need to bind the Rx once. Once that is done, you need to 'teach' the ESC the throttle limits. Is that what you are trying to do? Pete
Pete B
If it is, have a look at BEB's post, 2nd in this thread for a quick refresher on setting the ESC. Ignore the Fuby reference - Spekky throttles should all be normal, not reversed Pete
TonyS
Oooops! I forgot all about setting the throttle range......I've only been flying for about 5 years and I am a slow learner so...... Thanks Pete. I hope that this works. Funny though. In the interim I've swapped the ESC from an old (err, for old read crashed beyond repair...) model and it worked fine. Maybe the ESC and Tx remembered one another... T

TonyS
Update. It all works perfectly now I've set the throttle range. Thanks everyone - Now I've finished the assembly just in time for the rain to set in.. typical. Never mind, the lawn could use it. T

Roger Duggan 1
I too am having the same problem with my Century J3 Cub [ Max Thrust], the only way I could get it to work was by changing the ESC and receiver. Thanks for the tip.
