1/3 scale WWI full Pilot figures

Recommended Posts

Thanks again Wendy, PM sent.

Can anyone confirm whether British aircraft were fitted with a full harness or just a lap belt? I think most were fitted with just lap belts?

There is a funny story in the excellent book 'Fighter heroes of WW1' where a certain Graham Donald fell out of his harness/belt when inverted, only to fall back onto his Camel several hundred feet later! As he clambered back in he inadvertently pressed the gun triggers and hosed his own airfield with 303, hence the lack of ground crew to meet him when he landed, as they were still taking cover in their trenches!

Hi Tony

Just thought you might like an update on your 1/3 scale pilot wearing a Sidcot suit. Here is a photo of work in progress on the suit. The suit needs finishing touches and then your pilot can get dressed!

Hope this is what you wanted!

Hi Wendy, PM'd back.

As far as I know the suit should look like this:

Its made of khaki twill with a fur lined collar and front flap. Some have a map pocket on the chest too.
