TEDx talk video on UAVs

Yes, part the problem in the US is invasion of privacy and then many UAV fliers wanting to be able to fly anywhere using very high power systems which allow them to fly many kilometers away from the ground station and great heights and object to anybody leglislating their activities in anyway.

Some great videos of these flights have been posted on the net, but then you get the idiots deciding it's cool to fly with airliners on landing approaches, or fly large multirotors over crowded areas etc

It has polarised opinion in the US as many RC fliers now see these rogue UAV operators causing additional regulations on regular RC flying.

For what it's worth I think the BMFA have done a reasonable job in the UK, some won't like the "restrictions" on FPV but for the majority it probably works OK.

The BMFA and CAA have taken a common sense approach in the UK I think, problem in the US (for them) is that they are falling behind in terms of practical commercial applications because of this back-lash whilst being arguably at the forefront of systems development, which must be very frustrating.
