Michael Wright Posted December 17, 2013 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I have recently come by a Wot4 xl kit. I am now ready to fit the radio gear and wondering what servos to fit. I am thinking that a standard size is o.k. for the throttle but maybe something more substantial for the control surfaces, the fitted servo tray is sized for standard ones. Dave Miller Posted December 17, 2013 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I've never fitted anything larger than standard servos in one of these. You could use a mini servo for the throttle and save some weight. This model was designed when servo power was far lower than they are today. Victor Saliba Posted December 17, 2013 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Dave, I don't think you have the XL version, the XL (Extra Large) is a 90 - 120 size model, not the 52-58" version so Michael needs servos with minimum of 6kg torque. I used a pair of 3152s on ailerons with 996Rs on rudder and elevator with a 1.20 four stroke in my XL, but I don't do 3D - at least not intentionally! Bob Cotsford Posted December 19, 2013 Share Posted December 19, 2013 I'm guessing it's a US sourced calculator, they haven't quite got their heads round the metric system yet Unfortunately it's password protected so can't be converted to kg.cm.
