MikeS
Went to Wings & Wheels 2014 yesterday and had a great day. Tried out the new 70 - 300mm lens with the Nikon D3200. Tried some new settings which helped with the changing light conditions. Well here are some of planes that flew. Grob Tutor G115 WW2 collection, P51, Spitfire, C47 and B25 Lancaster Vulcan Mike. stuey
I spent 3 1/2hrs trying to get there yesterday before by luck hearing on the radio we would be turned away. Got within six miles! Traffic on the signed route was terrible, and as I am not a local did not know any alternative routes. Really disappointed and cheesed off to miss it. I have read that a lot of people are not happy. Good pics btw!
John Privett
Ah, you mean the W&W at Dunsfold - I was momentarily confused! Shame about not getting there, Stuey... I guess the popularity of the Lancasters and the Vulcan must have generated a rather higher turnout than they normally get there. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Shoreham next weekend, though if it gets full to capacity at least there's a possibility of other viewing areas - if they're not totally snarled up too! I did however see the two Lancasters yesterday - as dots on the horizon at Barkston Heath! Dunsfold isn't that far from me (I guess 20-ish miles?) but I've been there 2 or 3 times (not for this show) and it's not the easiest place to find! I can well imagine traffic being horrendous on the day.
MikeS
Getting in was ok, left home at 9am and was setup and ready by 11:15. However we left after the Vulcan along with everyone else and took over two and a half hours to get out of the car park. Wasn't too bad as watched the rest of show from car.
