  2. Thanks Ted. This one states it is not supplied with cable. A little inconvenient of the manufacturer but I can see why they wouldn't. I posted photos of my consumer box, wiring information and wiring plate. I just to confirm that this is ok before my electrician arrives so I now what to expect. Mike

  6. Thanks for all the replys. My set up is as Mike Etheridge describes. Main cooker switch with 13amp socket on the wall near oven above work top. Cooker outlet plate behind oven. Consumer until is 18ft approx from cooker switch with a b32 fuse with on/off switch.   Oven outlet plate Info regarding cooker wiring Cosumer unit cooker switch.   7. Long story short. Ordered a new Zanussi gas oven but they delivered a better electic double oven with induction hob. Total kw 12.9 and manual says to use 6mm2 cable. Fuse at 30amps Rough math gives 53amps and even with diversity seems a lot for cable rated at 7kw or around 45amps. Should I go with 10mm2 cable or follow the manual. Mike

  11. Well had my last day at Kempton today, lots of members and the mood was cheerful. So that's it for Kempton park its a sad day after 26 years. Roll on the new patch at Osterley even if it is for just a year. Mike
  12. Got out today with the Stuka and Pulse. My 1.20 asp needed new bearings and was low on compression. I replaced the bearings and head gasket and now it has good compression. Ran up the Stuka but it kept cutting as soon as the glow stick was removed. My ear was abused by a fellow flying member with the words "dodgy plug" so it was duly changed and normal service was resumed. It was fairly windy by the time I taxed out to the strip and almost like my wife was there a nagging voice was saying its too windy now for the Stuka. Now I don't know if it was stupidity or over confidence in my ability but the throttle was opened and before I knew it the Stuka was off the ground. I will admit that I should have let it gain more speed before pulling back on the stick as before I knew it the left wing stalled but I recovered it, just. Gained height in the circuit then turned up wind and before I knew it the Stuka snapped rolled. Lucky I was high enough to recover but this is not how my Stuka normally flies. I expected the unexpected and did my best to get it round to land it however the wind had other plans for this foolish flyer. Yes it changed direction putting my approach over the high trees not the best for this bird. Four attempts later and I was beginning to accept this might not end so well for the aptly named sitting duck. Fifth attempt and I got it down but too much speed, pull up or let it run off the strip. I let it run off and luckily suffered no damaged. Lesson learned. New pants worn. Mike Edited By MikeS on 20/04/2015 22:24:40

I feared the worst when I saw a fragment on the glow plug and expected damage to the liner etc. However I wonder if the fragments made its way up the breather pipe to the carb from the cam nipple. The engine was around two years old and maybe 20 flights and it was fitted with a 13x8.5 prop. The wrist pin is held in by a white which I believe to teflon plug.   22. Your right Jon. Intact I found metal fragments everywhere including in the small cam bearings. What's the best way to clean out the fragments from the engine and remove the cam bearings. Mike
  23. The pin has not seized in the conrod but the remains of the pin have in the piston. I have not checked the bearings yet but I did notice that when turning the main shaft the rear bearing inner race was occasionally slipping and not turning. I thought this was odd. Mike

  25. I was chatting to my daughter this morning about the 91. She was with me at the club when I was flying the Pawnee. She reminded that the I had suffered a dead stick. This seems to be the moment the engine failed. I can remember I was climbing vertical at almost full throttle and went to idle to flip the nose down. On opening the throttle the engine had cut. I didn't try to restart the engine until the next time at the club where the damaged was found. Here are some photos of the 91 piston and conrod wrist pin.
