David Ashby - Moderator
Can only speak for the leccy version which is fine, can tip-stall if pushed but flies well with a decent set-up. Can't knock the price.
iawnski
cheers for that david looks like ill get one to try at that price cant go wrong /what servos did you used in yours thanks
David Ashby - Moderator
Just standard micros, so Hitec 55's or equivalent - those cheapie £3.99 servos at BRC should be fine.

Tim Mackey
the orme was not too good yesterday, very light, spent an hour or two scratching around for lift and staying close to the ridge.
Shaun Brogdon
Any pics of the mustang? I have the spitfire on the board now. What sort of wind has it flown in?Cheers, Shaun
Tim Mackey
I think you may have to wait for err...a few repairs - yesterdays strong winds proved just a little too strong for it eh Iawnski?
iawnski
hi mustang ,i flew her yesterday in 30 plus winds ,i think a little to strong got caught with a gust near the edge and had a tumble. always same when everyone watching errrrrrr, anywaythe damage wasnt bad on site, but when she was laid out in the workshop ,i did a pm and shes now in the great flying place in the sky (((sob sob sob)) i loved her ( mali my mustang) ---- but answer to question, sorry, i had flown her in 10/15mph needed a bit of ballast but was really suprised as to how wellshe flew , i used 2 cheap £ 4 servos. the aileron response was great elevator same ,only prob i found was when painted it got quite britle. i would recomend one but i woulnt paint it. i gotta get another little mali mustang
Shaun Brogdon
Which paint did you use? i bought the pre painted one, just comes pre painted green. Im just deciding what to do with it, paint-wise. At that price it wont break the bank to buy another though
iawnski
yep at the price will get another i really enjoyed flying her poor mali mustang, the paint i used was acrylic and it made the foam britlebut hey what the heck ,pick yourself up and start all over again lol
Tim Mackey
It may have been the paint which made it brittle ( but unlikely ) however it was the earth magnet that destroyed it!

Jonathan Lewzey
I thought I'd share my experiences with the slope GWS Mustang that dad won for his reader letter this year! Its fitted with the cheapest gear possible - s.75 servos £4.99 each x3, Esky rx £9.99, EnErG Nimh £5.99 = £30.95, yes thirty pounds, ninety five pence. With a bit of lead for nose, it weighs hardly anything and can scratch for lift in anything above 5 mph. Our club flew at Whitesheet recently and a friend took a few pics for us here and here. It looks fantastic in the air. Dad has painted the whole model in silver enamels with blue and olive matt trim. Most of the original sticker set is also used. Once CG issues were resolved, it proved smooth and responsive. It loops, rolls, stall turns and flys inverted very scale-like. This also happened at Whitesheet - nice spot-landing Dad! Tim Mackey
Nice one Jonathan ( and dad of course )
Jonathan Lewzey
yeah, last time he did that and flew too far downwind, he broke the nose off my Ray. Lucky for him that he missed both fences and the puddle!!!
