Front mounted motor

Advert

You bolt the adapter pictured to the right of the collet type prop adapter onto the front (right end in picture) of the motor. You'll need to allow a hole in the back of the motor mounting/backplate to house the now redundant shaft, and bolt the left end of the motor to teh motor mount/backplate. The adapter you bolted to the front of the motor bocomes your new prop shaft

Be careful with the studs John. Use threadlock and only just nip them up. Too tight & they shear off when the motor warms up.

If the prop adapter has a threaded hole down it then also be careful not to over tighten the prop nut as the adapter snaps easily too. Not a problem if you know about it, used threadlock and don't over tighten the nuts/bolts.

Is there across piece, missing from the photo, with numerous holes in it? This is normally screwed to the shaft end of the motor. For front mounting use the shaft collet prop adapter, for rear mounting use the bolt on prop adapter and just lose the shaft inside the fus. Have a look here. Not the same motor but the principal is the same.
