David perry 1
This is my gyro...finished pretty much. I have built a ring cowl to cover the motor, so that'll go on. I need to fine tune the prop after flying it - 3S is v marginal, 4S is plenty. Hope to maiden this week. D

Chris Bott - Moderator
Well done David. Nice looking scheme. I haven't seen a DB Gyro for quite some time.
fly boy3
A club member recently built one powered with ic. His first ever gyro. Flew a treat on its maiden. Nearly all DB,s designs fly very well indeed. Cheers
Sean Tracey
All Boddos designs always flew well. He was a groundbraker for a lot of us old modellers. Bless him.
Richard Harris
David, Nice DB Autogyro, love the pilots! I have one that is 30 years fitted with an OS 25FSR and its original Futaba 35mhz radio, it was built by an old friend who is no longer with us. It still gets an airing now and again and is a giggle to fly, loop or roll it and the blades stop inverted! I am 90% positive it was not designed by David Boddington, he copied the model getting the credit for it but I could be wrong. David perry 1
Thanks guys. Yes, I was rather shocked to see the rotors on mine stop at some points - even more shocking was to see one side stopped on its own yet the beast keeps flying!! What an odd machine - ought to have taken off big time in full; size use given how daftly safe thy seem. I rather enjoyed taking it high on finals, chopping the power and pulling full back stick - not exactly 3 degree glide slope but what a sight! I look forward to flying this one more and more.
