Phil Brooks
Posted by Mike Etheridge 1 on 30/01/2017 14:13:01: Easy just sail the barge into a lock and drain off the water. Then someone should take the wheel! It ain't a barge, it's a narrow boat! Phil Brooks - Nit-picking Dept.

Mike Etheridge 1
Barge or narrow boat, when I was in Haxey last year and visited a pub that overlooked a Marina that was close to the river Trent, I was told by an owner of an expensive motor cruiser that narrow boats were called 'Ditch Crawlers', who was I to argue? onetenor
What about freeing an almost seized clutch cable on an Astra van with furniture polish spray. Saved the firm the cost of new one Mini cylinder head gasket changed on Charnock Richard services with two sockets and an L Bar and a penny as a screwdriver.Another a dynamo on a bike Lucas MagDyno set with fibre gear wheel which had stripped so wsn't charging. I always carried rubber bands cut from various inner tubes.I I worked two onto the gear tightly. This was enough to drive the dyno enough to light us home. Lasted til i changed gear two days later and recovered the bands which were still serviceable, Bodging at it's finest I think
