Very interesting.

Here in Jersey, and indeed the other Channel Islands, we are surrounded by German bunkers. They were built here as part of the Atlantic Wall.

The Channel Island Occupation Society have, over the years cleaned up a lot of these and open them to the public from time to time. Some have even been "re-armed" with the naval guns that were situated in them during the war, most of these guns being pushed over the cliffs after the liberation.

Our flying site on the north-west corner of the island has gun enplacements and seach-light bunkers, and a naval range-finding tower.
