Martin Harris - Moderator
Keep on posting Simon - I'm getting more and more tempted... What's the AUW forecast to be? I'd be tempted to put a motor in the nose for practicality and thermal soaring from a flat field - assuming any forthcoming legislation still allows it. Simon B
I can't remember the AUW, but the projected wing loading was 16oz/sq ft.I'm planning on a motor I think. Something 500w should be about right. Maybe a 2200 mah 4s lipo
MaxG
Have a look at this page for motors. The long shaft option could be useful. I have one fitted to a Multiplex LS3 that is still in build. If you do go for this make sure you get the prop centre as well. HTH Maxg
Simon B
Your link doesn't work.I've got a shaft extender a friend made for me. Not sure on what motor at the moment, but when I've finished the second side I'll give it some thought.
MaxG
Sorry about that. Hopefully this will work. **LINK** It is for the longshaft motors from Xpower on the Topmodel website. www.topmodelcz .cz note the extra cz in before the full stop. Simon B
As you can see I have joined the sides. Found a few problems at the nose end where some of the formers haven't lined up, so I've had to break a few out and do some realignment. I'm planning on putting a motor in the nose, so I'm going to replace the two separate F1 pieces with a new single piece made from ply. Once it's all dried I'll get on with filling gaps with some scraps. Edited By Simon B on 19/12/2017 21:30:
Simon B
I've ordered a motor and bits for folding prop from Gliders. This is the motor: Link Edited By Simon B on 19/12/2017 21:33:
