wing build

Recommended Posts

Hi Peter I really like your wing construction technique ,but can you enlighten me on how you chamfer the lower edge of the false L.E before curling the lower L.E. sheeting up to meet it .

Do you chamfer it before adding it to the front faces of the ribs ,or do you chamfer it with a sanding block or something similar after it has been attached ? Thanks

There is a very little angle to the lower chamfer so just run a razor plane down it before glueing to the wing. You could do it with a sanding block just as easily.

I now build the wing with the leading edge overhanging the building board by about half and inch which allows me to pin the sheet to the leading edge. Any slight inaccuracy (I call it tolerance!) is covered by the aliphatic resin glue
