DaveyP
Thanks for the replies, I've just ordered a lemon 6ch rx. Interestingly though the link takes you to a lemon rx at £16.99, but going direct to the ebay site the same rx is only £12.99 free p&p.......... peter harvey 1
The difference is that the dearer item has a diversity aerial which is essentially two different processors and it uses the best signal, this means that it has the reception that you would expect if you had a satellite receiver attached, but don't worry it will still work well provided you still have line of sight and are less than 1000m high I have used both and had no problems and our field is near Stockport and a large micro wave transmitter , we had quite a lot of glitching occurring when most people were on 35meg, and some when using orange, but not now we are using Lemon Good Luck Peter

gangster
Diversity antennae are a common feature on many different types of radio system. Particularly at higher frequencies although some car radios use them for VHF Not just model but serious professional links including microwave links. The idea is if there is a reason for one aerial to get a fade in signal i.e. Beam diffraction or on our case the model is moving all the time the second aerial hopefully takes over. So if your rc receiver has more than one aerial or a satellite receiver it could be described as a diversity system That is why we are told to separate the aerials and put them in a different orientation than the other.
