trebor
Due to lots of servos Ive got another 5v/5a Ubec to use rather than the Ecs Rx power supply. Also trying to cut down on channels could I just use the signal wire from the Esc and the live and ground from the separate Ubec onto the throttle channel of the Rx ? McG 6969
Hi Trebor, I would think your ESC needs some ground (-ve) as well. So, if you want to free up a channel, you should connect the grounds of both ESC and UBEC together in the throttle channel. But then if I were you, I would wait for some 'Electro Musketeer' to jump in & correct me. Cheers Chris
trebor
I know on some quad flight controllers you can run Escs just on the signal wires but Im not sure about being able to tune the Escs without the ground. I will keep my fingers crossed for some help.

Don't see why not, though I haven't had to because I programmed the esc before wiring in the UBEC.
