Tel
Hi All Just bought a secondhand Wot Trainer!. Just giving it a once over, it takes a thunder tiger R2 glow plug, a bit pricey, £9.99 per plug!! Are they worth the nearly double money than say an OS plug which are half the cost, I know you get what you pay for, but I am new!! Also there was no nitro with the plane, any recommendations on % nitro I should use. As always thanks for your time and advice.
Denis Watkins
The motor uses nitro, and 5% would be suitable for a .40 - .46 motor for the model. Model Technics Irvine Sport 5% fuel Most OS sport motor plugs will do the job, OS No8 for example. andy paterson
Hi TelI have a wot trainer , with Irvine 53 upfront nice plane to fly but they do like to sit in the air on landing .
Denis Watkins
You want a nice slow tickover with the motor Andy, to avoid a flyby 2000rpm with your tacho
andy paterson
Hi Denis I have her on tickover on landing but she still floats on , I do have a 12x6 APC prop , would you recommend something else ?
Denis Watkins
Just for a trial, Andy, going down on pitch, a 12 x 5, but top end speed will drop, and if you have not got the 5 Trial an 11 x 6, but again, top end will be lower, but quicker on the ground for take off. This trainer is a floater but does do the business at full chat. Now there is tickover, and measured tickover with a tacho 2500rpm will flyby, and does not sound much different than 2000rpm, so do check that, not just by ear
