Tim Flyer
Hi Chris that is because i knew it would be tight with spinner backplate to mount length specified on this model at 120mm . The back plate to rear carb length on a laser 70 is 125 mm but the exhaust is slightly within that but the engine rh thrust offset angle brings it in a bit . I’m doing it this way as I have the materials to do it and I prefer the cleaner look with a bit less of a hole in the side of the cowl . On my other laser installations in Wots I also have Standard exhaust elbow protruding from the cowl but this time I’m having a change . Maybe your spinner to backplate is slightly longer than mine as I was planning to do this from the beginning rather than shifting engines to suit the firewall. Anyway the main reason im doing it this way is just my personal preference 😉
Chris Walby
Tim, Thanks for the rational...just thought I had missed something As they say there are many ways to skin a cat and in this hobby there are normally plenty of different ways of doing things. I'll be watching to see how yours comes out both in build and performance.
