david Fuller
I wish to power a Spektrum reciever froma separate battery. Can any one advise me on a suitable switch harness and the correct plug to fit one of the channels on the reciever.Thank you.John
Frank Skilbeck
If this is a standard Rx, i.e. 7200, 6200 or 6100 then a regular switch with JR plugs are fine. Spektrum recommend a 3 wire harness so you can use charging lead to put the bind plug in for binding, but you could plug the RX battery into any unused channel leaving the battery socket free for the bind plug, if you just want to use a regular harness. Once bound you can then change plug the Rx battery into the battery socket on the Rx.
Martin McIntosh
I would say that the servo positive leads should be removed from the Rx plugs and commonned together then connected to the the separate servo battery. The Rx will then have its own supply which will be independent of the servo load. The negative leads will need to be connected to each other. There may be a commercially available set up for this. Frank Skilbeck
Martin, I could understand that for a large scale model with powerful servos but it's a bit OTT for a regular model.

Frank Skilbeck
David, your park flyer will probably be powered by the ESC from the main flight battery and thats fine. A 4.8v 4 cell nimh pack should be fine for your loco (What wing span is it )
