Paul Marsh
Bought this model for £5 with a rusty OS 46 AX engine. THought the engine was scrap.but did have a silencer which is over £20. Servos work, but cleaned engine, and not as bad as was envisaged. Engine was not siezed, car and crank shaft turns over. Needs a prop driver thrust washer, just ordered. Kevin Fairgrieve
Tis a Gremlin. I love mine. Full specs etc here.Combat Gremlin I have the plan as a PDF if you want a copy. I had severe elevon flutter on mine. Check out this video. First instance at about 2.35 mins in. Cured with a strip of "blenderm" over the hinge joint. Power from a very old worn out Thunder Tiger GP.42. Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 22/09/2019 19:43:
Paul Marsh
Thanks, I've ordered a thrust washer and spacer, and will make a set of fins up tomorrow. Looks an ideal chuck model for winter and fun, for £5!
Paul Marsh
Well, the engine runs ok, so that is usable.
Paul Marsh
Finished Gremlin combat aircraft. Fitted the rest of the gear, and added some fins. They are removable with screws so can be swapped without glue.
Steve Houghton 1
It reminds me of the control line combat models I flew as a kid in the 70's.
Toni Reynaud
I remember a flying wing I made back in the early 80's, powered by a Webra Bully. Lovely and stable at first, then and the fuel was used up and the balance point moved back it got VERY sensitive. Great fun, but I had reflexes back in those days. I am sure it will fly as it is, but you never know. Mine fins are also bolted on for knock off ability. So far not required. 82. My old 35mhz channel frequency. Paul Marsh
++++Stop press++++ As there was a break in the weather, decided to go for a fly. So flew the Gremlin, did an underarm chuck and flew no problem. a couple of clicks down trim and tracks well in the air. Although quite heavy, doesn't seem that was in flying characteristics. Kevin Fairgrieve
Forgot about this video. How much fun can you have with 15 or so gremlin type planes? Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 25/09/2019 18:51:
