Martin Gay
Ladies and Gentlemen, It has been brought to our notice that there is a sizing issue with version 15 of the Sabre plans - they are about 6% undersize and will not match the CNC cut parts. Version 15 of the plans are the second batch that have been printed and, we believe, relate to the Sabre kits that were hand delivered to the Orme PSSA event. Please check the bottom right corner of your Sabre plans, where you will find the version number, along with a 10cm scale. If you do have version 15, please let us know and we will replace them, free of charge, with a version 16 set of the correct size. We can hand deliver the replacement plans at the October PSSA event. Should you require the correctly sized plans before the next PSSA meeting please provide us with a postal address for delivery. Hopefully everyone that has been affected by this issue has already received an individual email about it. If you have a plan at version 15, but no email, please PM me on this forum, or email Phil at [email protected] Apologies, Gordon and Martin. Steve Houghton
Hi, I have Issue 14. The 10cm scale appears to be correct. Can you confirm there are no problems with Issue 14, please? Are there any signficant changes from 14 to 16 that we need to mark on the plans? Thanks.
Martin Gay
Hi Steve, Version 14 is to the correct size. The only difference is that v14 has a hand written amendment to the canopy part number whilst v15 has a printed part number for the canopy. Steve Houghton
Thanks, Martin. Did you notice my posting on the Sabre Woodpack List thread, asking about the thickness of the tailplane? Is it 2 x 3.18mm as marked, or 2 x 6mm as per the cross section? Steve Edited By Steve Houghton on 24/09/2019 09:49:
Martin Gay
Hi Steve, The tailplane is laminated from two sheets of 1/8" balsa. The cross section shown is annotated as "typical" just to give an indication that it is supposed to be sanded to a symmetrical section. Hope that helps, Martin.
