Motor wires extending current requirements.

Hi I have probably a silly question, I need to extend the three wires (windings) coming out of my motor a short distance to be able to position the esc. The motor is an align BL730 MX 42/30 960kv (550 heli).

The three winding wires are not huge off the motor , my question is what gauge silicon wire should I extend them with ? in other words does each wire have to be capable of carrying the supposed maximum current or is it split in some way ?

Thanks

Paul.

Just make the new wires the same or slightly larger cross sectional area (size) than existing. Not an issues over a short distance.

My Vulcan pusher ones are a couple of foot long with no noticeable loss of performance .. still flies like a manhole cover!

PS I would solder and heat shrink all connections to reduce any connection issues.
