Martin Harris - Moderator Posted February 24, 2021 Share Posted February 24, 2021 Although most people seem to react in horror at the idea, I've certainly used self tappers in 1/12th scale combat models where fast removal/replacement could be necessary between bouts. Most arguments about good engineering practice fall short anyway where machine screws are used instead of plain shanked bolts. When it comes to a more conventional model, I'd always aim to use correctly sized fixings to minimise any thrust line inconsistencies.
