David Davis
I have a Thunder Tiger 54 fouestroke in a Baron, a three-channel French trainer. The engine starts and runs at slow speed but when I advance the throttle instead of the engine revs rising progressively, nothing happens until the throttle is past the half way mark, from there the engine accelerates to maximum speed. The transmitter is a Spektrum DX9 and the throttle curve is standard. What's going on? I have been around i/c engines for over thirty years but I'm stumped. Doug Moss
Does the servo/throttle barrel open progressively?
Nigel R
Dirt in the carb / low speed needle? What happens if the glow is left connected? Have you checked over the tank and plumbing?
Martin Harris - Moderator
Assuming no mechanical fault in the linkage, it may just be too rich on the low end mixture. Does it stutter and smoke when the revs start to rise?
