  1. What does the yellow square/diamond on the port wing represent?
  2. For what it's worth, my Pietenplank is set up in flaperon mode. All down and no up is predictably unpleasant, all up and no down just results in a reduced roll rate.
  3. All warning labels should be removed from potentially dangerous products, stupid should hurt. Support the Darwin awards!
  4. Thank you all, the current subject is a Hangar 9 Pawnee. Whatever covering material they use sticks like the proverbial **** to a blanket except, of course, where you need it to, then the clear comes off leaving the colour/adhesive behind.
  5. Now I'm sure I'm not the only one who hates re-covering, so how do you experts get the old stuff off?
  6. My first flying model that I can remember was a Frog Interceptor, one of those that you wound up in its box, that would have been around 1961. My first RC model was a Senior Falcon with an O.S. 40 FSR. in about 1979. No photos of either I'm afraid.
  7. Rich asked which is the safest direction to turn, suggesting an emergency. If you're marginal on power or airspeed, then convert your momentum into airspeed by turning gently into wind.
  8. In answer to the original question, never mind torque, turn into the wind.
  9. [email protected] Interesting that no one seems to have mentioned altitude as a factor. Where I live and fly we are about 5500 ft amsl. Personally I use 10% nitro and 15% synthetic in two and four strokes, definitely better than 5%. We also generally have low humidity and high temperatures which must be a factor.
  10. They're not intended as an investment. I don't smoke and given what some people spend on cigarettes, I can easily justify the harmless expense.
  11. Does the servo/throttle barrel open progressively?
  12. I have an O S 108 in mine which works well. It's no ball of fire but bear in mind that where I live is over 5000 feet amsl and usually quite hot.
  13. Thanks for that. Very interesting aeroplane, pity it never got as far as production. Resembles one of the late Japanese fighters as well.
