James Humphreys 1
OK I've acquired a used farmhand 90, 86" wing which is needing some new servos 8 in total Ailerons x2 Flaps x2 Rudder X1 Elevator x2 Throttle x1 What would you recommend cheers
Martin Harris - Moderator
Any decent quality standard servos should be fine. Maybe slightly uprated ones for the flaps if they use large deflections...
Allan Bennett
I use Hitec HS82MG on many of my models. For flaps it might be worth looking at digital ones though, for they can be slowed and reversed -- reversing of one is necessary if the servos are installed as mirror-images in each wing.

Nigel R
I agree with MH's post. IMHO Hs82 are a little too little for a seven foot IC model.
Allan Bennett
Nigel R, you're probably right. But I do remember when I first started using HS81/82 servos that they had the same (or maybe a bit better) torque characteristics than the standard Futaba 128/148 that I was using at the time. I've got them in my 84" Piper Cub, but it flies very sedately.
Nigel R
Sure, but in terms of bumps and knocks, a standard is quite robust, and the weight difference will make no odds to that size airframe.
James Humphreys 1
The engine that came with it is a crrc thor 45 I think and definitely over 7.5kg
