Andrew Mawman
Can any one tell me the COG and control throws for a Flair Fokker DR1 1/4 scale?
Alan Gorham_
I balance mine on the main spar of the middle wing. Control throws are not critical. I bought a crashed one and rebuilt it with no plans or instructions to help. Get as much rudder as the cut outs in the elevators allow and maybe 10mm each way elevator. I did use aileron differential on mine too. Virtually no down movement needed.

J D 8
Hi Alan, That pilot who is half way out of the cockpit has to be disturbing the airflow over the rudder I recon Cheers, John.
Alan Gorham_
Definitely doesn't as the rudder is the main turning control and works very well. But I agree he does sit too high in that pic. It was taken in 2010 though so I have had plenty of time to fix it.
J D 8
Glad pilot has settled down, no parachute in those days. Nice model.
Simon Chaddock
Not much of the pilot sticks out and in combat the pilot would crouch forward so his eye line was on the Spandau's sights.
Alan Gorham_
That's all well and good but the Flair kit that this model was built from doesn't have a very deep cockpit well to sink the pilot into. And since the model is really unscale in plenty of other areas I've never really worried about it.
Walts
Just chop the pilot down. It would vastly improve the scale looks of the model regardless anyway ?
Ted Khinsoe
According to the construction manual Ailerons 15mm each way Elevator 15mm Each way Rudder 50mm each way of a 10mm right rudder at neutral CG 65mm back from LE middle should be 3deg nose down Ted
