Best way of gluing in hinges

Not used this hinge type before (only used the fuzzy ones which CA into the slots as per the usual ARTF models).

What's the best way of gluing them in without risking getting glue into the knuckle areas?

Epoxy pushed down into the slots?  Pre-grease the knuckles and pins with vaseline?

Yes, epoxy in the slot, slide the hinge in, but pause with a couple of mm still to go and lubricate the hinge. Some use Vaseline but I use some 58yr old typewriter oil - it came in a glass bottle with a cork with a copper wire applicator in the cork, which is ideal for stroking across the hinge knuckle before you push it fully into the slot - and I don’t plan to lube my typewriter again any time soon!
