Paul Theobald
Given that the forum is extremely knowledgeable on all things I'm just wondering whether anyone knows why the above test equipment appears to have vanished from all the online retailer sites? Is this a good or bad sign?Any feedback greatly appreciated. Bladerunner
I noticed the same thing. Read somewhere that there is a version-II due in a few months, so that could explain it. I got the PC-interface and 20A shunt just in case.
Thomas Nash
The Hyperion Emeter is been modified,I do'nt know why! never heard any negitive remarks about meter. I'm informed it should be back on the shelves shortly.
Des Richards
I have been using one for the last 6 months and find it ok - also have a Graupner clamp meter and the readings are very close. They are still avaliable in NZ.
Julian Boden
How do you get on with taking RPM readings? I seem to struggle to get anything sensible or consistant. I must be doing something wrong!
Des Richards
I attach the tach to the top of the fuse with a rubberband or a velcro strap - hold the model in a home made clamp on legs, about 3 feet high which has a shelf to hold the E-Meter, clamp meter battery pack and Tx, this leaves me with both hands free to operate the throttle and jot down readings. Hope this helps.
Chris Salomon
Has anyone spotted a new E-meter yet or have any news on the rumours of a new version coming out?
Sparks
To get consistent readings, face model towards daylight with prop blade(s) between meter and light source. When using indoors (leccy of course!), artificial lighting can upset the meter as it detects the 50Hz mains frequency (equivalent to 3000rpm for a two bladed prop)
