leccyflyer
Last night I watched what was billed as a film adaptation of one of my favourite short stories of all time. The classic Christmas aviation tale of The Shepherd, by Frederick Forsyth. I clicked on the link with good expectations. Have to say it was very disappointing and I far prefer the radio adaptation which was excellent. The hooky computer animation is very low quality, resembling a cut scene for a Windows 98-era computer game. The narration covers the main gist of the story, but so much of the excellent story-weaving by Forsyth, which was faithfully reproduced in the radio version, is sadly missing here. It's a shame, because a really good short film was there for the making, but this isn't it. The Shepherd - Full Film (33 min 31 sec)
