ARTFs have their place but what could be more satisfying than building a model, choosing your own colour scheme, sorting out an engine which has not run for years and flying it for the first time? It was a excellent trainer back in the day. Pity a kit wouldn't be viable nowadays as everyone seems to want Foam ready to fly stuff! Having said that we are getting a few club members starting to build from plans and kits as the prices of bits of foam have skyrocketed.
