Could you please talk us thru the anodising process please, maybe in a new thread ? Do any other printer ink colours works as well ? Thanks. Thanks for the comments everyone. Rich I will do a thread on anodising soon as there seems to be some interest. Most printer inks work although differently. For instance the red printer ink gives a lovely pinkish colour . Yellow is disappointing and tends to wash out in the fixing stage and black can vary from dark grey to brownish black yo a really dark black. There are so many variants that affect the finish and colour.

jeff2wings
That really is a excellent result ED good as new! Always good to see an old 'dead ' engine brought back to life and hopefully back in the air maybe in something from the Keil Kraft range? Engine Doctor
Hi Jeff. Yes very pleased with result. Not sure what to put it in as last vintage model built , an Eros from a 1948 design with an ED Hornet was a very disappointing flyer. Will have a think as a bit busy at moment and want to get out flying with better weather coming. Did you get message re dart crankcase ?i
jeff2wings
Ah,got it thanks. Interestingly I have just found an article on how to chrome plate a piston in the 1950 aeromodeller annual, a very similar process to anodising.
