Removing masking tape from plans.

Don’t know if I am the last person on earth to find out.

Today I was removing the cling film I used to protect a plan on the bench. I had used masking tape to stick it down, standard 3M tape. As ever it pulled the paper surface off.

A film shrinking air gum softened the tape, and allows damage free and quick removal.

Hi Don yes the cold  weather stiffens  the adhesive causing damage .  Beware though if its left too long as the adhesive dries out and sets hard . The only way to remove it when that happens is with a solvent to soften the adhesive so that doesn't damage the article its stuck to. White spirit works well.
