I'm working on this Fokker in 1:5 from ECOM-RC.

It's an ARF that I'm converting to a Swedish version.

There was just one example.

I have removed all of the plastic film covering and started the Koverall covering.

I have also bought pinking tape from Toni Clark.

One of the downfalls of the kit was the dummy engine, which was a glossy black vacuum formed lump.....

There was no interior details at all, so that also needed some work.

The wheels are a whole other story that I'll get back to.

As the dummy engine is very prominent on the D.VII it demands some special attention.

I found a CAD file online (in 1/3 scale), that I resized and printed in ABS+.

I also designed a tube frame and a chair.

After 16 hours it was ready!

Now it will be a whole lot of work to finish them.

At least I don't have to build any machine guns, as the Swedish version was unarmed.

Nice.....:-)

Hi Graff was it Nigel's CAD, looks like it....i used masking tape around the inner manifolds which looked ok, built mine about the same time as Nigel but did my own CAD...Nigel and myself exchanged ideas on printing etc......did the switches etc also for the instrument panel.....look forward to seeing more!

I've started modifying the cockpit hatch.

Started with cutting out the floor so I can use a full figure.

Then I cut off the pedestals for the machine guns, the reason is that I'm building the Swedish version which was unarmed.

I'll cover the hatch later with litho plate.

I covered with SIG Koverall for the first time.

I didn't use Stix-it or Balsaloc, but dope all over.
Two coats of non shrinking dope on the frame, the covering is then fixed with acetone. Then some more dope on the overlapping edges.
I shrunk the covering with a heat gun before applying shrinking dope overall.
It feels like a drumhead!

I used thread glued to solartex as stitching/ribtape.
I then used self adhesive pinking tape from Toni Clark.

I'm making the pilot.
I found a pilot bust on Thingiverse that I re-scaled to 1:5.

I printed it in tough resin on my Photon printer.
The pilot is supposed to be full sized, I had a damaged 1:4 scale figure that was to be the starting point.
I shortened the body, arms and legs so it should better match 1:5 scale.

Next I'll paint the head and fix the uniform.
