Phil Green
A brilliant weekend as always at OW, big thank you to the organisers 😀 I was mostly down the FF end with the S/C Poppet but nipped up to R/C a few times on the bright orange folding bike, not to fly as I dont have a 'B' but enjoyed watching for a while, then back to FF. The rubber-powered scale WW1 models were quite superb - long, realistic flights and soft landings in the OW grass. Bliss! Good to see a few youngsters involved too, clearly having a great time without the aid of mobile phones! When I got back to my van it had sunk, so thank you to Retro Modeller & pals for the push! The Cardinal was the first free flight power model that I built. Seeing yours fly has made me think that it's time I made another one, but for rudder only this time. While it's not as classy as your 1950's Mills that I saw, I've got an old DC Merlin diesel not in anything at the moment that should be perfect for it.
