Credit where credit is due here. Last Wednesday I telephoned CarbonCopy UK in Stevenage and asked about the availability of S5 spats. Despite showing in stock on the website it transpired they weren't, but shouldn't take long to source. A credit card number was required to make the order. This always fills me with dread and I said I didn't want to part with money upfront with no definite delivery date. I was assured that no money would be debited until the items were mailed to me. By the way one can't order directly from the website and this all has to be done on the phone only. I am always a bit nervous about leaving card details with businesses as in the past where I have made purchases on the phone with "buyer not present" I get all sorts of texts from the bank to contact them and verify it's me. Anyway I noticed on Friday that the cost of the spats was listed as pending on my CC account so I was hopeful of delivery by the end of this week. Anyway they turned up today (Tuesday)and delivered by the much maligned Evri courier.

Obviously, I will have to do a bit of work to make them functional such as adding an internal ply mounting plate and reinforcing fibre glass matting before cutting axle slots to fit. Spray painting being the last job. But, Hey! that's what we modellers are good at aren't we? 😀
