GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Hi I have recently acquired a glider and would like to know a bit about it. Can anyone identify the maker and model name please? The wingspan is 1.96 metres and the overall fuselage length is approx 1.0 metre. Pictures attached. Many thanks Gary
simon barr
Hi Gary. I see you haven't had any replies for this one which is unusual, as there is normally someone in the know. I don't know what it is, but could it be an early Chris Foss Phase "something-or-other"? It may just be a "Bitsa" or a plan build. Hopefully this reply may nudge others into replying with more info. Simon.
GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Thank you. Last time I asked about another model identification I was flooded with replies. Here's hoping? Gary
John Lee
My guess - and it is purely a guess - is that it is a one off. Perhaps it may have been inspired by Ken Bink's Suzy Que for the same distinctive nose and Chris Foss's Centiphase for the tail?
John Muir
I had a look in an old plans handbook and I think that might be an RM239 by Brian Peckham. The plan is still available from Sarik Hobbies if you want to have a look yourself. Right wingspan and the tail looks the same?
Jolly Roger
Dang you guys are good! Amazing detective work John 😇 I had an inkling it was an old RM plan but couldn’t find my old handbook.
GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
That's amazing. Thank you so much for the research and info. Looking at the picture on the Sarik website it does have some similarity to mine, so have ordered a set of plans to check and also establish the CofG before I try to fly it. Thanks everyone, very much appreciated. Gary
John Lee
Good one John M. Following the RM Plan numbering sequence I found It appeared in the June 1981 edition of Radio Modeller. Unfortunately I don't have that magazine in my collection but there is a copy on eBay. Edited March 26 by John Lee
