Rod Beasley
The best way to start is at your local model shop. They will put you on to a local club. Before you fly you must join the BMFA for insurance purposes. Pop down to the local club and chat to the members. You may get lucky and find some one with a second hand trainer to buy. You can go electric from the start of course but be prepared to spend some money. My local shop sold me a space scooter model. With the extras like servo's speed controller reciever and crystal along with a battery the palne shouldn't go more than 100 quid. Look on ebay for a transmitter. My new futaba cost 59 quid but i already had a charger. You can get a real bargain if you look around. You can try these for a decent rig. http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/They do a great 6 channel for 89 quid which is perfect. Just get rigged and ask for help. You must start with a trainer they are easy to fly. don't fall in to the trap of buying a plane taht looks good. it will mostly be a very hard one to master and could cost the earth.good luck with your flying and have loads of fun.
