Items missing in the post

I placed an order worth £60 on October 8th.  The items have been dispatched, the money has been taken and I see that there is a Royal Mail tracking number.  So far, so good.  The problem is, the items have yet to arrive and the tracker just states 'Item DV??????GB was posted at ?????? on 08/10/09 and is being progressed through our network for delivery. '.

 

That was more than a week ago.  Royal Mail will not entertain claims for lost packages until fifteen working days have elapsed and then it can take up to a month to process a claim.  I don't expect the goods to turn up.  Who has to claim from the Royal Mail ?  What can I reasonably expect the store to do to help out here ?

I believe you will find that it is the sender who has to make any claim on Royal Mail. I found that.

With the current postal disputes going on I expect your goods are "bogged down" somewhere in the system and will turn up eventually. 

 

Very frustrating though and I don't see how the postal workers can possibly imagine that their current behaviour is going to help their public image.

Having had several orders be delayed recently i would sit tight ,in the last six months i have had 4 orders take 3 plus weeks to arrive and they had royal mail tracking numbers.

you can ring the royal mail helpline as they are very helpful where possible
