Erfolg
Whilst having a tidy up, I found that I have two 3m products, which are Blenderm and Micropore. Looking at them there is some similarity, in that they come on same size rolls are sticky. The difference appears to be the material, in that Blenderm is almost like Sellotape (durex if from the USA) and Micropore appears to be random fibre (similar to some glass tapes). Are both equally suitable for indoor hinges? Erfolg
Tim Mackey
If its any use, I have used both on small outdoor foamies, and all have stayed intact. The only downside is that they get a bit grubby, but that's a minor point really. Both stick quite well to depron surfaces, but then again, diamond tape is even better.PS I wouldnt use them on any of my doors though...either inside or outside ones Edited By Timbo - Administrator on 27/11/2009 13:28:
Ultymate
Sliding doors work quite well on durex, self closing
Erfolg
I have seen references to Diamond Tape. I have looked for Diamond Tape in Staples, Asa in their stationery sections, I have never found the product. Who makes and stocks it? Bruce Richards
"Diamond Ultra Clear" is a Sellotape product. Google it for loads of on line suppliers.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
& Diamond tape is UV resistant apparently....
Erfolg
Looking at various web sites, the detail on the packaging does not mention "Diamond", but "crystal clear". May be that is why I could not find it. Perhaps Diamond is on the rear? Erfolg
Laurence Campbell
I know this thread is ages old, but i recently had the same question, and have found the answer - Blenderm is WATERPROOF, Micropore is BREATHABLE - hence although it will stay stuck when wet, it will allow moisture to penetrate. See the following PDF for more details of 3Ms surgical tapes. **LINK** Cheers. Laurence
Tim C
Blenderm is the stuff to use on Depron, Diamond clear tape is good but not on Depron, fine on a film finish, Micropore IMO pretty useless for hinging
