James40
A few more of a fellow Boeing, apparently made in the same factory, a shame the weather was a little overcast in these so the lighting wasn't great.
David Ashby - Moderator
Wow james, they're corkers!
James40
Thanks David, the airborne outside the C-17 pics were snapped by Red 10 who you can just see in the 5th picture down at the bottom of the picture, the rest were snapped by us inside the C-17.These were taken from our latest C-17 that we'd collected from the factory in Long Beach only a week earlier. You can tell it's new because the cargo floor is clean and the paint isn't peeling off the fuselage

Simon Chaddock
James 40A fellow Boeing!!!!!!!I know big B now own virtually all the American aircraft industry but Donald Wills Douglas would be turning in his grave. Yes David. It almost looks like you could do an "Italian Job" and get a couple inside!
Ross Clarkson
Amazing phots James, how long you been on 99?
James40
Since it all started back in 2001 Ross. Things have changed quite a bit from those early honeymoon days ! I was joking Simon, the C-17 was actually a Mc DD when it started life, Boeing took it over when Mc DD started struggling.
Ross Clarkson
You might know my old man then James, W/O Clarkson??
James40
Derek Clarkson I most certainly do, in fact I saw him only the other day in Carterton, didn't get chance to say hi though.Last I heard he was working on VASS (or whatever they call themselves these days) still at Brize. We've been through a few WO's since but Derek was the original, I'll never forget his cheeky Geordie voice
Ross Clarkson
Small world James. Yeah, he is still on VASS taken it very easy, lazy git!!!!! Yeah, he is a legend in my eyes but don't tell him that!! You a member of RAF Brize's model club?
James40
I will be next year, it's only flying after 5pm or weekends so this time of year there isn't enough light and I'm always away at weekends. Good club though with a tarmac strip and they let you fly IC planes unlike any other club in the area.
Ross Clarkson
Good to hear James, might see you around sometime. I am already a member as i also live in Carterton. Not flown there yet as only joined in September and as you say, light is a bit of an issue and i too don't have too many free weekends. See ya around, take it easy.
