Tossed up in my mind which leccy spit to go for. The old tried and tested bog This my firt fighter and I've got a horrible feeling I've chosen the wrong aircraft
First price, not too bad as it includes the mot or and sc but the airframe quality leaves a bit to be desired.

The plastic has split at ther nose ring under normal 'handling ie fitting the prop and spinner and is already reinforced with a ply backing plate. Likewise wing root fillets are very fragile and likely to spilt on the first landing which may not exactly be under control due to the god awful stiffness in the control runs. I'm doubful if the recommended mico servo will be man enought to move the elevator at all when under flight loads.

The stablemate Mustang, already review in RCME was given the thumbs up and this promted my decsion to buy the Spit. If anyone has already thrown and flown of these little beaties I'd be eager  to hear their views

I also have the Spitfire, it was a disaster!! It had to be sent back due to a faulty motor which spun in an eliptical fashion. The quality is terrible, doubt mine will be around this time next year. As for the control linkages, for the elevator sand the blank paint off the pushrod and it should work ALOT better. We converted the Alierons to direct links with two servos, much more responsive now. As for it being an "ARTF" I bought it in May 2009 and its only flown 6 feet in 9 months. Will probably throw it up next flying session because i'm bored of waiting now. Will video the first flight, should be a good laugh Look at my photos to see our alieron conversion

Shaun you may not have yet clocked the newcomer on the block. The 'ol' Ripy Spit 600 motor and all that is still in production. This new wee beastie is from their Flying Legends range. The model just isn't up to their normal standard. They have obviously gone to great lengths to get the profile and colours almost right byu fall down badly in many other ways. Thanks to James E I've fettled the elevator control linkage so it should at least survive the first launch now! The paint is wearing off under normal bench handling and the plastic is mere microns thick and very brittle. I don't expect it will last a season. Not good enough
