  1. I have huge aileron throws on mine with Expo to soften it round the centre. Loads of rudder too, as much as you can get with a decent servo for knife edge. Its a very capable aircraft on high rates and a total pussycat when calmed down with an extremely low stall speed, lower than an Acrowot, and bags of power with the Saito 72 to get out of trouble I also find it has massive Elevator authority with having a servo per control surface. I mixed mine in instead of using a Y lead so I didn't have to put the servo's opposite way round.   Iain.
  2. Stephen. I've just found this tread, good job on the build.   You will find the HR very easy to fly indeed. I've had one for some time now and it's defo one of my favourites. I wasn't sure if you meant 4 stroke will not fit in the HR?? I squeezed one in just fine. I think ur instructor was trying to put you off a little, he must be jealous   Iain.
  3. Check this out for low http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmTL2AbPQOA
  4. Cheers John. I've had a look at servo shop but cant find the gear set I want. I think they're old ish servos. Webbies isn't far from my house so I guess I could give them a ring and nip over. I asked at my nearest model shop last week but they didn't seem too bothered about getting them in?   Iain.
  5. Hi all.   Just wondered if any of you have used this retailer http://www.myhobbies.myzen.co.uk/shop/index.php?page=main   I need some servo gear sets and cant find many places that do the supertec gear set for the s3002/2bb servo?    Cheers, Iain.
  6. The model looks great Tim. It also looks like its going to be extremely slipery in the air!  keep up the good work.   Iain.
  7. I always get optifuel. British made, and imo, better quality fuel. Unfortunately most things are cheaper when you buy from abroad, not just in modelling, everything!   Iain.
  8. I agree Timbo, just a really nice servo. A couple a bog standard mini's will do fine.
  9. SAVOX do some nice small servo's, metal gears and digi for about £13 each. Although it isn't necessary to have this type of servo for ailerons, as you say, not big loads, esecially on this type of a/c, they are nice tho Edited By batcho99 on 28/02/2010 21:12:32 Edited By batcho99 on 28/02/2010 21:14:25
  10. You will probably find it easier to get hold of parts for the Irvine. The Magnum is pretty old school now, although, i'm sure if it was in working order it would be a good engine for a trainer.   Iain
  11. 29   IC Sport/Aerobatic IC Scale IC Heli Elec Sport Elec Heli   First IC model at age 9
  12. Four stroke plugs are generally longer reach too. I've always found OS 'F' type or YS four stroke plugs to be the best. I have never used a 'two stroke' type plug in a four stroke, i'm sure there's a reason why they make a specific plug. Check this out.
  13. Gahgah. BEB is spot on, and has exactly the same opinion as me when it comes to i.c and electric. What fuel are you using in the little motor? Glow plugs can also cause running faults, so can plumbing. It might be something other than the engine itself?   Iain.   I.C. forever   (specially 4strokes)
  14. Great stuff. I'm looking forward to this. I'm already think 'waht planes to take' I think there will be a good number of TN designs present.   Brill.  Iain.
  15. Its the server change over that has caused the slow speed, check out the other thread relating to the new server. Seems ok this morning tho, maybe IT monkeys get up as early as me?   Iain.
  16. I think its dying! Its taken me ages to get on here tonight! My misses is goin mad cos she wants the laptop! Why fix something that isnt broke? My two pence on this 'super fast' server. I'm off til tomorrow, i'm impatient with computers at the best of times!   Iain.
  17. Brilliant. Thanks for the super fast replys. I'll take a look now.
  18. Hi all. I've been looking for some small M2 bolts but not sure where to get them from? Anybody know of any good places to get some? Ebay is an option but I wanted to compare some prices?   Cheers chaps.  Iain.
  19. A bit more progress made today I should have called the thread 'autogyro build' really.   Iain.
  20. Trex 700. F4U Corsair with 5 cylinder radial. Turbo Raven with turboprop. And a jet of some description   Iain.
  21. I cant see any exhausts sticking out of them! Very odd Its a big task to get a pic of the whole fleet, i'll have to wait til summer i'm afraid. That whizza looks slipery.   Iain.
  22. That would look grand flying out of my hangar with me humming the Airwolf theme tune. Derrrr der der der derrrr der der der derrrr
  23.   It'll need the low c of g when it get it's rotors.   I was going to put some other pics on here when I did some more work on her but 2 replys in four days, obviously not much interest so i'll leave it there.
  24. Exactly Ross. Its not just about the 'fly in' its also a chance to say hello to people and see others peoples models and get ideas etc... There could be a swap meet too and a few stalls to browse round. I'm sure some nice scale models and part builds to view   Iain.
