  1. Not heard of that one and I know to a lot of Panthers that have been built. As long as you have free movement of the servo arms and control rods then it will be fine.
  2. That's the big version I think, its more than strong enough for the Panther
  3. Great job that Steve, looking forward to hearing how it goes? Rich
  4. Andy, Just had a quick search and found this https://www.hyperflight.co.uk/products.asp?code=FG-SHEET-15&name=glass-fibre-sheet-1-5mm
  5. Nice covering job, not a lot left to do now! Not sure if you have seen this, a friend sent me this photo taken from the pages of this months Model Aviation Magazine your side of the pond. I think the mag is kind of like our BMFA news over here, though I could be wrong.
  6. That's coming along nicely codepox, are going with a canopy?
  7. Sort of... I couldnt get it to spin fast enough to start with adding more negative incidence with each attempt. Once it did spin up it was getting into autorotation and a hand launch saw a fast descent. The blade used was a weighted Panther type so it may be a case of lengthening the span to give the extra lift needed.
  8. A single driven blade is more efficient, at the moment the only efficient thing I'm achieving is breaking props! Not wanting to give up easily though
  9. I like the blades Chris, have you tried them yet? Will let you all know when the plans are earmarked for publication, have had a bit of a delay due to Covid in the family and seasonal viruses. I did manage to get out last weekend with something I always fancied experimenting with, things didnt go to plan but the results were encouraging. The Gyroo is the perfect machine for trying these things out on. Rich
  10. Codepox, Nice work on your Revolver, I have tested my model using Panther blades and they seemed to be fine. I'm unsure of the aerofoil of yours so it's hard to know how they are going to react. Keep up the good work. Rich
  11. Outrunner, Blade length is generally based on your models weight and how you want it to fly, to give you something to compare against one of my originals weighed around 950g ready to go and the blades measured 65mm wide x 430mm. That's using my own profile with a sharp lower LE. You have probably seen this video, its the German version with black blades flying on the park in front of the house. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lbTqPxVIB8&t=115s Rich
  12. Bees, Keep the blades as they are, you will have to add right roll trim for a clockwise rotation, alter nothing else. I wouldn't advise shortening the blades. Rich
  13. Cheers chaps, Models on other beta models are balancing between the points shown on the plan horizontally with no nose down attitude. Clearly I can alter this to give a bigger tolerance. Strange
  14. Nice job Chris, loops will be a doddle now! no pressure for a video......... I'd be interested to know where the CG has ended up on your and Steve's over powered Gyroo's? When you guys get chance could you take a measurement from the front of the mast at the fuselage top forwards?
  15. Phil, Good to hear your mastering your autogyro, it's a great feeling nailing the landings. If its pitching up under power it is most likely that you will need to add a bit of extra down thrust, couple of washers and sorted. I'd try one thing at a time if it were me. Keep us posted ? Rich
  16. Rich, As long as it's not passed the 50% mark you will be fine. Our old friend Tom Wright flew some of his earlier models with a mount point almost at 50% and they worked fine. Though these were lighter models than the Bandito. Rich
  17. Chris, You can easily move your battery rearwards. Rich
  18. Chris, If it's any help the motor I'm using is THIS swinging a 11 x 5.5" APC prop, 40amp ESC off a 3s 2200mah Lipo. This gives me plenty of power to easily pull loops from level flight, it could be propped down for a more sedate flying style and better duration. The other models I have seen do have bigger heavier motors fitted which work just fine too. Rich
  19. Steve, That was pushing almost 90 degrees bank! Dont think you'd of got away with that without the speed ? Have you tried a loop or roll yet? Rich
  20. Chris, Mine weighs in at 920gms, that's with a 3s 2200mah Lipo installed, so you have saved 10 grams with your arrow shafts, though it could be the gravitational pull is a little less down under ? ?? Have you flown yours with the 'add on' fuz yet? Rich
  21. A few snippets of footage I've put together of our modest get together a few Sundays ago, not far from Birmingham airport at the Heart of England MFC. We will be having another outing (weather permitting) this coming Sunday down South. Rich
  22. To be honest part of the reason I made it modular was so I could break it down and hide it in the caravan ?? I like the idea of the carbon Chris, just a bit too fiddly for me. I'm guessing they're arrow shafts? Out of interest whats you AUW?
  23. Glad the video has answered your question Bees ? Here are a few photos of Tim's Gyroo taken last Sunday, it was early on and a bit overcast and drizzly so they are not great. He had a couple of flights with his and does throw it about a bit!
  24. This is an Own Design which was test flown this afternoon. It certainly kept me busy on the sticks until it was trimmed out but after that flew well. Rich
