  1. Guys I've spoken to CML who say they've been surprised by the demand and are awaiting a new shipment in next 10-14 days. They suggest you try - HOBBY CORNER , WREXHAM, 01978 355231 ARROW MODELS, SCARBOROUGH, 01723 503503 MODEL & HOBBY WORLD,LANCASTER, 01524 843553 MODEL WORLD,MAIDSTONE, 01622 735855 Also Sussex Model Centre is worth a try on 01903 207525, probably no stock but can put it on back Order. David
  2. There are two sets Allan, one with servos and one that's just the combo so I don't think you're comparing like with like ( I hope! ) David.
  3. John...ahhhhh (as they say) Apologies, I'll see what Chris Read has to say and get back to you. David.
  4. He's very much in the business Bill, writes every month for the mag' but he probably didn't have a copy. You can get a copy from our plans service on 01296 730691. Call customer services on 01689 899200 opt 3 for a copy of the article. David.
  5. Is there any info you're specifically looking for Bill ? David.
  6. Fantastic thread Graham, really interesting and a nice scale subject too. David.
  7. Chas Nigel is away today but back in a few days so he should be able to reply here. David.
  8. Chill mate, it's not so bad really, do it when everyone has gone home. I got worked up before mine but it was easy and a good examiner will always put you at ease. David.
  9. Goodness, you must have long flights Kelvin ;-) David.
  10. Alex - suggest you repost this in the beginners section. No one will see it here . David.
  11. Sorry Ian, it'll be in the next issue, promise. David.
  12. Yes Chris, lovely isn't it, one of my favourite twins. David.
  13. Adrian It needs a little investment in a heat iron, you can use a small (travel) domestic iron but it needs a smooth shoe - the holes for steam in the base are to be avoided. If you're pretty much 'into' the hobby and mean to go on, then get an iron - you can use it to seal down ARTF coverings so it'll always come in handy and be a useful investment. The little leaflet you get with a roll of solarfilm or profilm is very good and explains what to do. Have plenty of sharp knife blades too as they blunt so quickly cutting film. You go through a learning curve with film coverings. Your second model will be better than your first and as your skills develop and you get the 'knack' so to speak, you'll find it a quick and easy way to achieve a really good finish. David.
  14. Well my models are indoors as I have a spare room which I use as my play room - this avoids excessive heat and damp. I wouldn't leave models in a roof as it gets too hot in summer and too cold in winter up there. If you can't leave them indoors then an insulated shed or garage is fine. David.
  15. John I've just cleared them for general viewing, should be ok now. Nice shots btw. David.
  16. Been there and done 'em Myron but I still think that for an EZE-Fan, solarfilm is the best finish for speed, ease and possibly even cost. Tis up to Adrian of course. David.
  17. Sounds horribly messy and time consuming Myron - we've got to get Adrian solarfilming surely? David.
  18. Adrian It's always tricky if you don't want the balsa to look like balsa! It means sealing the wood somehow before painting and this adds weight. Spray paints are best of course as they avoid brush marks and add a thinner layer. Sure you don't fancy covering with film, it's not a difficult as it looks and it's quick and avoids mess too. David.
  19. I think some subscribers got their before us today! As usual, this is the place for your commentary. We do value your feedback and listen to everything that's said - good, bad or anywhere inbetween. As the months pass by we try and build this into the mag' in all sorts of ways. This month we have another comparison review (something you've asked for) and we've a small one page review where we think that's enough space to cover the item. David.
  20. Spot on there, some of my best sessions are at 5.30-6am before the dog walkers get up and the breeze for that matter! David.
  21. In a word 'No' Matthew I'm afraid, plan build only. Can't build? no such word as can't! You've got to start somewhere and as long as you're a competent flyer (ie. able to fly what you build) then the Eze-fan is as good a plaxe as any to start, get stuck in and you may surprise yourself. David.
  22. Going to try and fly every evening to compensate for sessions lost in the last few weeks! David.
  23. Lots of possible causes Christopher - heat, damp etc.. recovering may be the best cure, it gives you the chance to attack the structure if necessary too. David.
  24. I've tried to move things that way with the balancer piece in the current issue. We've got some things in the pipeline. The most difficult thing would you believe is getting hold of kit. It's amazing how much stuff fills catalogues yet is unavailable at importer level. Importers seem to run out at alarming rates. David.
