  1. Voted for Slope - A, but likely to look at electric A and possibly FW A, fleet, weather and time/examiners allowing.
  2. A shed tidy enough to work in Some models finished which I have started. Perhaps the one that has been on the go for the best part of 20 years....
  3. Given I'm looking at using the Canadian display team (Golden Eagles) as the ne colour scheme for the Sabre, I'm thinking of this fellow in the cockpit:
  4. Adam, Can't see the pictures due to work policy not allowing dropbox/fileshare sites. What sort of prices are you looking for?
  5. Hmm...very intersting. Might just be adding that to the order when I get round to getting the 3D printer.....
  6. Matt - just happened over this thread while looking for something else! No progress recently - I am hoping to have the shed into a usable condition soon and then re-commence with the various projects. In the meantime the weather looks reasonable for the Orme over the weekend, and I can get down on Sat with my lad, so will do some kite flying on the beach then up on to the rock, not sure of times, but will be clearing via the misses and hopefully popping down/over.
  7. Well the weather does look rubbish tomorrow, I have to take the boy out for the day so we will find an alternative activity Can't do next weekend, can't even do Sunday this week as the lad will be back at swimming lessons and they are too early to make the trip worth it. Another time.
  8. Merry Christmas everyone....Christmas eve, 10:30am, and about to leave the office for the shed!
  9. There are a few around the country, and makerspaces are growing too.
  10. The other think to look for is FABLAB Quite good - only pay for materials, but times can be limited for access.
  11. Posted by Andy Meade on 18/12/2015 10:35:00: Resurrection! Nah, just determined actually do this build at some point.
  12. Right. I am determined to make a proper start on this in the new year, so when I get home tonight I will be doing some sorting of the shed. I expect a tip run will be needed tomorrow. I just hope the weather forecast holds! Once I have got the first bit of sorting done I will be able to wire in the outside light, and therefore do the next bit of sorting after dark/little one asleep.... Olly - aiming to leave the office by 3. I hope my boss doesn't have other ideas.
  13. Posted by Levanter3 on 15/12/2015 12:27:25: Colomban Luciole (Something very different and a bit more challenging. Probably electric which is new for me) Dragon Dancer (Been on my list for ages and might try electric) If you need help with the electric side just ping me a PM!
  14. Posted by Chris Barlow on 15/12/2015 17:30:03: "Might" have the JP built ready for the 2nd which I'm led to believe is compulsory ownership to be a member of PSSA Well that's me out as well then - I can't add another model to the stable - just no time.
  15. Paging Mr Gilder, Paging Mr Gilder, do you and Jess fancy a trip on NYE - I will drive....
  16. Ouch. I too think that you are taking the right approach, but would be hard pressed to do so myself! This shows the value of a decent after flight clean/inspection.
  17. I have been trying to make a list of 'jobs' to do for 2016, and find a number of them are modelling related. I then looked at the 2015 list and find the majority of them are on both lists. I therefore thought about making the list public and letting everyone else share the plans they have for the new year and we can 'encourage' each other along to completion. So my list; 1) Paint small shed and move into position 2) Clear and sort main shed, including additional storage 3) Finish the Strip and re-cover of the PSS Sabre 4) Finish building of the High-Fly (not a lot left!) 5) Get A-Cert 6) Make some progress on the wings of the TB-3 A shorter list than last year - not because I got lots done, but simply because I am trying to be more realistic!
  18. Anyone up for NYE flying? My better half has to work so I might try and take the boy out if the weather is decent. Not sure on the 2nd, but will see what I can do - will be sports models only I'm afraid as not had any shed time for ages.
  19. I might 'offer' to give the better half the day off and take the boy down to the Orme....
  20. Chores - Empty and refill shed including put new tool storage on the walls and a though clean out while it is empty.
  21. What about a famous aircraft from the year - 1986. As I see it there are 2 key events, the Voyager round he world flight: Here Or the Space Shuttle Challenger, sadly lost in this year: here
  22. Don't know if I'll make any fly-ins over the festive season, but might be able to persuade SWMBO to let me take the little one out for the day and 'give her some time off' Olly
  23. Posted by Ben Kenobi on 18/10/2015 10:16:51: Just proves that the lawyers are out of control - they need their wings clipped - how can a soldier on active service be expected to worry about such nonsense. That the legal system even allows it is the defect in this scenario - soldiers should be subject to military rules, soldiers should be accountable only within the military system. As a serving Officer - I have to disagree here, otherwise the military justice system would be overloaded, it is clear there should be Civil and Military offences, and that these are distinct and prosecuted via different streams, and they should be. I don't really wont to go into depth here, but feel free to PM and discuss.
  24. Yesterday had simply great clean lift... I landed after about an hour as my neck was sore from soaring my pure glider. The guys had some pss off the slope when I called in on the way home to say hi, but needing to get back for my son's swimming lesson meant we couldn't stay. Although the 2 year old wants a plane now. Any suggestions?
  25. Thanks Steve, if it doesn't fit then not a problem!
