Thanks lads, looks like EZE Dope is the stuff to use. Cheers

If any one is that way inclined, one can be anti social without being embarrassed. Cheers

Hi David, a wonderful sight for you. Nice pics. Cheers

Cheers flight 1, they look quite useful. Never used tissue before, so might have to have a trial before the real thing. Thank you.

Thanks John, I did think it was a golden oldie as it has no ailerons. I have a Super Scorpion built in 1973 and a dream to fly when suitable weather arrives. Thank you. -
I have been reading about covering vintage type models with tissue and dope. Poly c was also mentioned. Can this product be used with tissue to cover open frame work as well as slab sided type fuselages ? Cheers

Slec uk can also cut ribs, just send them a copy of whatever part of plan you want done. They will give you a price before starting the job. Cheers

As I live alone, and old lol, my family are urging me to join Facebook for better communication between us all. Do you think this is a good or bad thing ? Cheers

Hi Dad-flyer, many years ago when every one was building, I came across a tip to prevent a warp in solid balsa elevators. IIRC, a rectangle of a suitable size was cut out of the middle of the elevator. This was replaced by an exactly sized and same thickness piece of balsa, but glued back with the grain at 90 degrees to grain of elevator. Worked for me. Not sure about myself yet, but it's a fact wildlife will benefit. No shooting. fishing and hunting. I do hope that some European countries have stopped the killing of millions of song birds in miles long mist nets. Sorry if slightly off topic. Cheers

Me too. Love vintage as I class my self as vintage lol. Cheers

Hi Nick ,I too would like to build a warbird with trepidation. I decided to lower my sights and build Peter Millers Werewolf instead. Cheaper, easier to build, and paint, plans and wood, canopy etc readily available, and as all Peters models, guaranteed to fly well. Just a suggestion. Cheers

DW models Astro Junior .

Great model. Years ago before flying mine I was on the "other forum" asking for some flying info for maiden. I was told go fly it. Apparently years ago,the result of a forum poll in the US on best flier, the Astro Hog won hands down. Cheers -
Does the size of spinner effect prop performance ?
fly boy3 replied to LHR Dave's topic in Propeller Selection
I agree with Chris. Many many years ago I asked a similar question after building a Magnatilla. The cowl was so large I was concerned re power of the prop, Only about half the prop wash was providing air over the control surfaces. I was told all was well, as the outer tip portion provided most blow. Cheers -
Yes please carry on this interesting build. I too am an ic fanatic, but interested in your power conversion when available. Cheers

Re spats. Could be more aerodynamic lol. -
Nice one Cliff, made my day pal. I would not call you a loon at all as its a bit degrading. Eccentric in the nicest possible way would be better. Where would we be without the eccentrics in this world. It would be a far duller place to live for sure. Keep it up pal. Cheers

For a "wham bam and crash" project, HK has a Tx for as little as £25 . Cheers Edited By fly boy3 on 27/03/2020 11:45:12
