  1. Ok, there will be a delay before i get this airborne, one of the last jobs was connecting the aileron rods up from the bottom wing which contains the servo and bellcranks to the top wing which has the ailerons. you can probably guess that there is plenty of play in the bellcranks, aileron free movement is 1/4" only option i can see is to strip the underside covering from the top wing and put mini servos in.
  2. What sort of flying weight are the Stampes coming out at?...............Martin
  3. This is getting close to a maiden flight now, it has working flying wires to hold the interplane struts in place, what are peoples opinion on the top wing bands, should they be crossed?
  4. Picked this Bi-Fly 25 up today, Thunder Tiger 35 pro, looking forward to getting it into the air, not flown glow for donkeys years but it came with 3/4 gallon of fuel so it would be rude not to try it before i convert it to electric
  5. Not potty at all, the Royal plan shown in the link above shows it under the model, if you transpose that to the top wing it is just under 1/2 of the top wing cord at the widest point.
  6. This is the plan for the Royal P-6E, which is basically the same aircraft with an inline instead of a radial, Cof G looks to be slightly forward of the top wing centre line, based on that my model would balance perfectly. **LINK**
  7. Ok, cracking on with this, spot on Trevor, weight is a smidge over 5lb, gone 5s a123 cells, they fit in perfectly under the u/c hatch which holds the u/c on with two bolts, motor is a Propdrive 38-42 1000kv on a 12x6 prop giving around 600W. Big question is where is the Cof G? I don`t know what plan this was built from, i have looked at several Curtiss P6 Hawk plans online and they all have different CofG positions! Obviously i cannot afford to get this too far rearward, i would rather err on the safe side. Your thoughts would be most welcome! Edited By martin collins 1 on 15/02/2019 19:28:03
  8. That looks like it could be in the air fairly quickly, all it needs is a nice colour scheme!..............
  9. Any one converted and flown a BI FLY 25, would be interested in your setup and thoughts.............
  10. That`s nice, what motor/cells/prop are you using, any idea of the flying weight? Let me know once you have flown it, i am thinking of getting one for electric..........
  11. Silhouette for sale on Evilbay, cheap airframe if you take the value of the motor fitted.......... **LINK** I have cut a top hatch in mine now and made a battery tray so i don`t have to keep removing the wing the change the battery, had another couple of flights on it this week.............
  12. KC, do you know if the Renegade was a plan in RCM&E, if so when? What span is the model, Sarik`s site doesn`t say..............M
  13. Ohhh, that looks nice, been on the Sarik website, plan number is now RC1510 any more pictures of it?
  14. I`m interested in what peoples favourite Sport bipe is and why, pictures would be nice if you have any........
  15. Ok, i may have a go at this, it will be my first mass build, already bought the mag with the plan in, i may fish around to see if i can get the cut parts cheaper, i don`t have the time to cut them myself. Mine will be electric powered and as others have mentioned i think the u/c arrangement/wheel size ruins the look of the one in the picture, i may go with wing mounted u/c with some spats on as the shape of the plane lends itself to that. Any more pictures of a completed one available to post on here?............Martin
  16. The Jester bipe looks nice on the Galaxy page, anyone here built one?
  17. This thread got me thinking, is there anybody out there at the moment producing this sort of quick build kit, ie, foam wings and decking, sheet fuselage etc. I could be interested in a kit if it was scalish looking? Not looking for an ARTF, this feels like a cross between that and a proper kit, i enjoy the covering/finishing as well. Also not looking for something that costs nearly £200, i like to keep my modeling cost down to maximize the fun!
  18. Not been available for a number of years now, shame, they fly really nicely and look great, quick assembly. I would have thought there was still a market for these............
  19. Looks pretty sharp for a 10 year old model Tony, any significance in the registration number, the full size on that reg was a Leopard Moth.
